Nice Thomsonite.
Cool the way the eddy forms a doughnut out of the foam.

Whoa, much as I love thomsonite, $2k for that piece is way past the high end! Very pretty example, though, and who knows whether someone with a fat wallet might discover it? Does go to show that tumbled and contour-polished rocks can fetch serious money. Looks like you got some nice pieces to play with, too. Amazing foam circle in that rushing stream.

How difficult is it to remove the thompsonite from the matrix? Looks like you found some nice pieces.

How difficult is it to remove the thompsonite from the matrix? Looks like you found some nice pieces. I only spent a few minutes and picked a pail. I have 10 pails at home already to go through. The difficulty depends on the matrix. The blueish black basalt is very hard and usually you have broken the thompsonite before it is out. I saw the blue and make cabachons in the matrix. The brownish basalt is either weathered or maybe a different mineral make up. It is soft and crumbly and the thomsonite comes out fairly easy and a lot of time in full nodules. I use a small hammer and chisel or nail punch.

Might set it in silver for her, thinking of a hinged pendant so it can be flipped. Wonder what it would sell for mounted?
