Here is the exact location of the dig site (Nethers farm) - NRG it might help to add the map link to your main post for anyone that wants to check the distance from their hometown. I’m waiting to hear back from friends in Ohio. They said that it would be a couple weeks before they have definite plans for July.

Still a very impressive list of attendees. I almost wish I didn't have a show scheduled that weekend. Almost. This will make my 25th straight year for this show...don't miss it as long as I'm breathing. Went last year 3 weeks after my heart attack still hacking my brains out from an intubation injury.

I would consider myself a tad more then a maybe. I should be able to make it I just can't guarantee it yet. That's the tricky part of hiring the back hoe. If we had enough people to get it down to $25 per person I would commit to my portion even if I had to back out of the trip but if its $50 per person that is a bit steep to kick in on a maybe. NRG - for some reason your map link on page 9 is not working at the moment Chuck

I went into the url, pulled the long and lat coordinates, and came up with this map of the location. This is what I saw earlier today. I went to NRG's page 9 post and fixed the link. I also see Drummond Island Rocks also added a link on his own. Most, IMHO, should be able to find it.

This makes good sense Chuck and I would follow suit. I'll toss in a non-refundable $50 (for myself and Eva - both diggers) if we get a pre-registration going to cover the backhoe. Otherwise I'm starting to think we seriously need to call this guy off before he heads out there and starts digging. If turnout is low, someone is going to get stuck holding the bag.

Even with going out west this summer I may be able to swing a single day to dig, especially if it is over a weekend. It looks like an 8 hour drive for me, which I could easily do over a 3 day weekend.
I could do $25, non-refundable, to help with the backhoe whether or not I can make it.

Sorry guys I just can’t make it. Today I had to actually sit down and prioritize and simplify the upcoming next few months. We had someone drop out as Field Trip Organizer and Leader at my local Gem and Mineral’s club. I felt led to take on that responsibility. But it has added to my plate plus my WH classes this summer (now I officially have a LLC Business ) so these classes are needed for business growth. So I can’t commit to anything else.

I'm in for a dig fee, whatever it ends up being. Anything that simplifies the gathering of good material, I'm all in!

Although I still don’t know if I’ll be there or not, I can definitely commit to $25. I don’t mind paying $50 if I’m actually there.

THE LAND OWNER IS CHARGING YOU ALL A FEE TO BE THERE AND A FEE FOR THE POUNDS YOUR TAKING AND YOU HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE A WHOLE DUG YOU WOULD THINK THAT THE LAND OR CLAIM OWNER WOULD HAVE IT ALL READY FOR YOU

Tommy NRG I am not going but would gladly sent $25.00 for the cause if needed. Let me know I can paypal the RTH site, right? A lack of funds shouldn't stop an epic dig. Vic

If not, how do we know the ranch will even allow it? Does the ranch not do their own grooming? Most pay-to-dig operations have some sort of grooming program in place. Maybe I missed prior conversations that would explain it...

Maybe I missed prior conversations that would explain it... The flint is in a massive seam running many miles. Color is found here and there. The concept of heavy equipment came up so that the seam could be broken for us, so we dont need hours with hammer and chisel to get 5#. the gentleman lparker is referring to is the only heavy equipment allowed on the property. We cannot go rent our own.
