This catch up post goes out to meviva and Garage Rocker just because they each had mentioned Bahias in threads I was involved in. I have always liked these agates and have tumbled them several times. Some of these are the most unique I've come across so far. The largest of the bunch at 2". IMG_3421 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr All about an inch and a half at the widest. IMG_3417 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr Same size. IMG_3415 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr Bonus Rock number 1. Bought this one last year on vacation. Normally I'd have broken this up along the fractures but am glad I did not. The area around the orange has a shimmer to it when turned in the light. Pretty cool. Any body know what kind of agate this might be? IMG_3449 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr Plenty of waterlines... IMG_3426 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr and other things. IMG_3429 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr Bonus rock number 2. My friend picked this up while hunting and gave it to me. Illinois chert, first spotted one I've had. IMG_3454 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr Next couple pics would be my favorites. IMG_3433 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr IMG_3438 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr And some more bonus rocks, most came from Rockshed mixed rough packages. IMG_3444 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr IMG_3441 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr Thanks for looking and keep on rollin' them stones.

Wow what a great batch. Nice Job. The one at far right is unbelievable. Best banding I have seen on a Bahia and have tumbled a lot of them. Chuck

Terrific batch! Thanks for sharing, Ken, and for tagging me. I love Bahia's. They are one of the more reasonably priced rocks you can get from the Rock Shed. Amazing how ugly they are when you get them, but make beautiful tumbles, evidenced by your exhibit above. I keep telling myself I'm going to gather all mine for a big group photo, but I've given so many away it wouldn't be the same. The groups you labeled as your favorites are spectacular. My faves are the ones with eyes, also. Hope you don't mind, but I'll share a few of my best as well.
If you've never tried these, give them a chance. Just takes a little time to round them out.
Thanks again for sharing your work! We'll take more!!!

Those look great!! Love your favorites. I love the one on the right in pic #9. I want to try and get a couple of slabbettes out of mine to cab and then tumble the ends. As soon as my saw parts come in I will give it a try.

These are gorgeous! Makes me want to try Bahias from the RockShed. Some of them remind me of polished bubblegum agates.
