I'll start with rocks from Illinois, my home state. Illinois is more of a fossil state than a gem stone state. The rocks I find here that can polish include ... common quartz pebbles white to yellowish, granite, some feldspar usually red or white, and chert. The chert is usually white with shades of grey. Browns, yellows, and black next most common with red/pink and the very occasional blue being less common. #1. This pic represents what is common. IMG_3671 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr #2. A few to show some of the other colors. The one at about 5 o'clock looks a little like a stromatolite to me. IMG_3685 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr #3. Much of the chert has fossils inside. Mostly crinoid stems and sponge spicules with other fossils less common. These are what I look for most. IMG_3689 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr #4. An I don't know but it's kinda cool rock and three small agates, about the size of a nickel, probably glacial till. IMG_3681 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr #5. Five nice pieces of chert and a small coral. The chert with color and fossils I have nick-named "Sea Floor Jasper". "A" side. IMG_3676 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr "B" side. IMG_3679 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr #6. Next a few from Arkansas. From Crater of Diamonds state park and surrounding area. Pics that did not make it in my original post. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/post/951658 IMG_3691 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr #7. Black/grey themed. IMG_3715 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr #8. Our "best" finds. The fortification around quartz center was the wife's find and the mossy one mine. IMG_3696 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr Other side. IMG_3699 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr Thanks for looking and keep on rollin' them stones.

You're definitely a busy tumbler. That, or a lazy photographer with a backlog of tumbles! Ha! Either way, thanks for sharing all your fine work with us. Lots of cool 'fossiliferous' material.

Great stuff from the collected inventory. Nothing like a polishable fossil. You sure are cranking tumbles out. You should consider collecting these recent tumbles posts to a single compilation thread.
