I have not picked up the torch in a few months so be gentle. I actually thought this one went pretty smooth. I did not scrap any silver so that is better then most of my attempts. I made the cabochon from a Petoskey stone I collected this spring while visiting JugglerguySo far I have decided to leave the bail closed instead of splitting it open. My Michigan mitten cutout I have been trying to take a photo during the creation of pendants to include in my listings to show that they are hand made Thanks for looking Chuck

Lots of awesomeness. The stone is so shiney and the setting compliments the beauty of the stone.

What tools do you use to cut the Michigan shape in the back?

What tools do you use to cut the Michigan shape in the back? Just a standard hand saw for jewelry. The shape is not perfect but I like the idea. I use my bench block like this when cutting Chuck

Nice clean job, Chuck! I like the bail. I like cutting the back out, too. It really does add something.

I had chosen a bezel wire that was taller then my girdle because I planned on using a spacer behind the cab. I forgot about that and after I had the cut out done I could not use a spacer so I had to sand the entire bezel height down. It was worth it though. Chuck

Chuck Chuck, I had to laugh about that as well. orrum, spell check will change your words to other words, not gobbledygook. Fat, clumsy fingers will hit V instead of the C. Quit blaming your spell checker! Ha ha!

Dang, Chuck, I was laughing so hard at Bill's fat typo fingers that I neglected to comment on your pendant. I like it!! Great polish job on a sometimes finicky stone, and really like the setting. Love the 'mitt' on the back.

I wish you would cut the state of Georgia out. That piece should sell like a hot cake. Fine polish too.
