Does the color of the slurry indicate anything? Today when I changed my barred the slurry was red-ish. I've never had that before. I was cleaning out the barrel from stage three to go into stage four. It's a mix of red jasper, rose quartz, quartz, dalmatian jasper, and some granite.

My guess the red Jasper is the culprit. I have not tumbled much of it. I just slabbed some serape Jasper, it had some kind of soft red skin on one side. Inside of saw cabinet and oil is plenty red now.

Either you cut your finger , or the iron in the jasper that makes it red is turning the slurry red .
