Work has been crazy the few months. I have been working on spheres and cabs, mostly at night to relax. I haven't had much time to take photographs and post to the forums until now. This is a photo bomb of several cabs I have finished over the last several weeks.
MISC CABS
Tiffany Stone
Quantum Quattro - a mix of smokey quartz, dioptase, shattuckite, and chyrsocolla.
Sonora Sunset/Crimson Cuprite #1 - always a favorite to work with
Sonora Sunset/Crimson Cuprite #2
FOSSIL CABS
Indonesian Fossil Coral #1 - this is shallow domed on both sides
Indonesian Fossil Coral #2 - this one has a little color coming through it.
JASPER CABS
Bumblebee Jasper #1 - This is the nicest Bumblebee I have worked with. It is untreated and polished beautifully.
Bumblebee Jasper #2
Ocean Jasper #1 - very nice old stock OJ
Ocean Jasper #2 - another variety of old stock OJ
AGATE CABS
Agua Nueva Agate
Indonesian Purple Chalcedony - love this stone's beautiful color.
Indonesian Tube Agate - neat material that reminds me of translucent palm wood
Island Agate - waterline and a fully banded fortification?!
The three Laguna cabs have the parallax (shadow) effect and are from one of three slabs I cut from a large nodule. I am polishing the two ends from the nodule.
Laguna Agate #1
Laguna Agate #2
Laguna Agate #3
Mozambique Agate #1 - Nice cab with a druse center
The next two cabs have tubes, strings, pseudomorphs, great banding, and fortifications.
Mozambique Agate #2
Mozambique Agate #3
Love Nipomo agates but they are a mess to work with.
Nipomo Agate #1
Nipomo Agate #2
Nipomo Agate #3
Nipomo Agate #4
Thunderegg - this is from a double thunderegg where one side was black and the other white.
PETRIFIED WOOD CABS
Indonesian Birdseye Palm #1
Indonesian Birdseye Palm #2 - I may recut this one and bring the sides in closer to the fortification.
Indonesian Birdseye Palm #3
Indonesian Birdseye Palm #4
Indonesian Birdseye Palm #5
Turkish Petrified Chrysocolla Wood #1
Turkish Petrified Chrysocolla Wood #2
Turkish Petrified Chrysocolla Wood #3
I don't know it Texas Petrified Wood
Indonesian Opalised Petrified Wood #1 - This is some amazing material
Indonesian Opalised Petrified Wood #2
Indonesian Opalised Petrified Wood #3
Indonesian Opalised Petrified Wood #4 - this cab has a copper inclusion
I have short videos of most of the cabs I have been making on youtube at: Meditations In Stone - Cabs
Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!
