What determines whether one becomes a liberal or conservative, a Buddhist or catholic, a poor or wealthy person?
it is where one chooses to place their awareness!
A football player breaks his hand. He is oblivious until the most important to him at the moment, the game, is over. Suddenly he knows his hand hurts - WHEN he changes his awareness!
I just got back from the dentist. How to control the pain? Focus on what is most important!
Food is important. Without food you will starve to death in about a month. Water is important. Without water you will die of thirst in about a week. Air is important. Without air you will die of asphyxiation in a couple of minutes.
Breathing was far more important than whatever was going on in my mouth! Deep breaths, feel the bottoms of my lungs separate. Imagine that oxygen going down to my fingers and toes. Send another wave down.
BTW Everyone needs to take an extra deep breath 4 -5 times a day and feel the bottoms of their lungs pull apart! Most people are shallow breathers which can allow the bottoms of the lungs to grow together, become infected, and have to be cut off. Easy prevention. Take those deep breaths.

“The person in life that you will always be with the most, is yourself. Because even when you are with others, you are still with yourself, too! When you wake up in the morning, you are with yourself, laying in bed at night you are with yourself, walking down the street in the sunlight you are with yourself. What kind of person do you want to walk down the street with? What kind of person do you want to wake up in the morning with? What kind of person do you want to see at the end of the day before you fall asleep? Because that person is yourself, and it's your responsibility to be that person you want to be with. I know I want to spend my life with a person who knows how to let things go, who's not full of hate, who's able to smile and be carefree. So that's who I have to be.” ― C. JoyBell C.

I dunno, I used to prefer no novacaine. Hang on and let him drill. About the time I was at my pain limit, he would be done. All I really recall was gripping the arms of the chair. And pain. I am fairly certain breathing was automatic.

Are you concerned about preserving the constitution, or more interested in helping the poor with other peoples money?

Are you concerned about preserving the constitution, or more interested in helping the poor with other peoples money? My wife and I are fairly well entrenched in the upper end of the middle class. Although semi retirmentment has us in a controlled slide. On a slippery slope without brakes. Most people do not understand the difference between a democracy and a democractic republic. The framers of the Constitution were men of deep personal faith. The Bible was their blueprint. If I dwell on the dependency that most government administered social relief programs fosterers, it is aggregating. Personally, I think the Constitution is a unique and wonderful creed. I dislike the word document here. So very much more. How to preserve it is a noble cause, fighting windmills comes to mind. The justice branch is runamuck. The executive branch grabs power similar to premonarchy. The legislative branch is mired down in 'my way or the highway'. Realistically, there is little I can do.

(To make matters worse, the tablet is winning the grammatical, spell war right now.)
I prefer to choose where our dollars spent in poverty relief go. Realistically, to remain a citizen of the greatest country the world has known, I forfeit that right. Willingly. To remain true, I volunteer and give where I wish.
I have intentionally not voted for a President since Mr Regan. A pointless, impotent act. There has not been one since worth my vote. Regan was not worth my vote either, just happened to be the last prez I voted for.
I really like the beaches of Lake Superior. Peaceful, even when 15 footers are crashing in. Keeps me grounded and fully aware of how insignificant my actions and desires are.

Personally, I believe Trump is the best president we have had in the past hundred years.

Oh, I vote, every election. Just not for the Prez.
The Donald may be the best. Kind of like reaching into a bag of dogturds and pulling out the one that smells best. It will be interesting to see how he tries to balance the budget.
Have you seen Maine's latest reaffirmation of democracy sans the Republic part?

It will be interesting to see how he tries to balance the budget. Have you seen Maine's latest reaffirmation of democracy sans the Republic part? Like calling a dog turd with sprinkles a donut? I think that what many Americans visualize when they hear the word presidential is a potentate. It's pretty much the opposite. The executive branch is supposed to be the weakest of the 3. State, DOD, interior, and commerce should be the only agencies he heads, and even that with the consent of congress. I like to have a positive view on the political circus, so I choose to hope for an American public that gets it. Gets that left/right lib/con is an illusion to keep FOCUS away from the way they are addicted to control, no matter the party. Gets that there is pretty much no such thing as too few laws/ too little government. Gets it that the guy who promised to solve you problems wants to be able to promise the same thing next election, and for that to work the problem must remain.

Sprinkles on a dog turd. I'd call it more of a very bad flip, on a vain man that can't look in a mirror.
Overachievers often are afraid of failure and he considers baldness a fail. So, sprinkles it it.
