When I had my courier route I listened to lot of novels on tape
I think, I have a lack of imagination, because I read very few novels Yet, I do LOTS of reading
Anyway when I had the route I considered listening to novels as a way to get paid for reading ! Every readers dream or least a reward for a page turning…

Another nifty device I can’t do w/out-- is the Kindle Reader Read at night without the light on Fabulous !
Decades ago I wanted to invent florescent type that would illuminate the printed words in books for night reading I’m surprised no-one as come up with that, yet But I’d like to get some of the royalties from this idea when they do!
Anyway book purist tell me that electronic devices, like the Kindle, is the death of books I understand their hesitation Something about the craft ,history, feel of the book, turning pages, bookmarks ect is nostalgic to them and they don’t want to see that go away.
But the Kindle is a really cool device

The Ranch and Heartland...... Iv'e watched all the episodes of the Ranch but I would not classify that one has high quality entertainment. Heartland is great family entertainment. My 13 yr old actually loves that one and has sat with us to watch all 11 seasons. It is VERY hard to find shows that wholesome these days. Chuck

I never watch the news. Ever....same thing every day. Causes too many negative emotions. Sons of Anarchy is AMAZING-would of been on my list, but I thought you may have alreafy seen it. I really don't watch A Lot of tv especially during the week. Mainly hockey, Greys anatomy, This Is Us and then Netflix (A Lot of documentaries) So the binge watching, I can't do either. I prefer reading and can give you a ton of books you may enjoy. Plus I like my sleep way too much😊 Maybe I should give my version of 'binge watching', and explain why I prefer it over reading a book. I feel more like a slug, just sitting there reading. It takes full attention. I can have the TV on and still: exercise, play tug of war and fetch with the dogs, browse the internet, post on RTH, clean the room I'm in, mess with rocks, work on Photoshop, and so on. Those are my 'wind down' activities, that can be multitasked while the TV is on, but not while reading. Then, run out of gas, crash out and hit the hay. I am the same. A lot of the shows I watch are just background entertainment while doing other stuff. I work 10 hrs a day then stay pretty darn busy after work so after that it nice to sit down and turn on a mindless show to decompress. Surprised nobody mentioned The Office or Parks and recreation for slapstick comedy. If I am watching a good movie I'll pay attention but during normal T.V. shows I usually have the laptop or Ipad going at the same time. Chuck

I don't have cable- strictly Netflix and AZ. Gave up cable abt 20 years ago.
Gotham is good. It's the story of Bruce Wayne (Batman) as a boy. It has the backstory of all the villains, too. It's not what you think it is when you hear it. It's pretty good story telling and dramatic with a little bit of comic lore thrown in. Some of the characters need to win awards they do so well. I wasn't too sure about it and quickly became hooked. If I am remembering it correctly, a teenager-ish kid could watch it. There is some violence, but I don't remember a lot of sex- some sexy characters, think Jessica Rabbit, but not flat out sex.
eta- we're sci fi geeks so most of what I would recommend are sci fi shows. We don't do comedies or sitcoms. 99.9% sci fi.

Chuck The Office may be my all-time favorite comedy series, Chuck. As a matter of fact, I tried to watch a couple episodes of 'Parks', but it seemed like a rip-off of The Office, just with a female Michael. I couldn't watch it. Call me crazy, or stubborn, but I'd rather just watch The Office again.

Breaking Bad, just about the best drama series ever. Best episode in that show, the "ATM" episode in the 2nd season, don't watch if you feeling down or having a bad day as it's about as gritty as you get.
"My Name is Earl" was one of my favorite shows to make me laugh.

Gave up cable 5 years ago, would have done it sooner but my exwife had to have it. Put up a fancy TV antenna and now I get 15 channels free but I only watch a couple of programs. I like the show "CBS Sunday Morning" and try to see it everytime it's on. Also like the PBS show "Nova". Watch the news too, don't really like it but I like to feel informed. Watch a lot of YouTube stuff. I have Netflix Streaming but don't use it but a few times a week. I have a nice High Definition Home theater with the Big Movie Sound so I like to watch movies on the BluRay player to get the best quality and show off my system. So I have a Netflix DVD By Mail subscription that sends me 3 movies at a time, mostly BluRay stuff. The NetFlix DVD selection is wildly better than the movies on the NetFlix Streaming service. I also love to get movies from 4 Redbox locations within a half a mile from home. So my recommendations are movies from the NetFlix DVD selection
Christine - 1983 Steven King Purple Rain - 1984 Prince Trainwreck - 2015 The Revenant - 2015 Zathura - 2005 Inception - 2010 Labyrinth - 1986 David Bowie The Martian - 2015 Death Becomes Her - 1996 Bruce Willis The Day the Earth Stood Still - 1951 American Beauty - 1999

Author you may enjoy, CJ Box. I'll second this...again...even though this is a video thread. The Joe Pickett series is outstanding, and actually reminds me of Longmire in a way. I gotta get back into it, but I'm in the last book of the series. May have to start it over as it's been so long since I started. Randy Garage Rocker, I have a documentary series for you...Fire Chasers. Probably means more to me because of my background, but it was very well done. Have you seen American Horror Story?

Did you get the new one??? I have to get to the bookstore today......🤗 Nice going. You made me look. No, I don't have it, as I wasn't keeping track. I'm halfway through Vicious Circle, and I may just start it over again. Our Costco usually gets his releases, and that's when I usually know something is new. Tomorrow we go there, so I'll be sure to look. Thanks for the heads up.

I saw CJ Box when I was looking for my last book. I got an Ann Rule book instead. I'll check it out next time. I watched a few episodes of Fire Chasers last night. Scary stuff. I did watch a few episodes of American Horror Story a while back, but never went back to it.

Just watched Sleeping Beauty (1959) on BluRay, goodness gracious the sound track on that one is unbelievable and the animation was better than anything that comes out these days. Next up for the DVD player is ...
Porky's - 1981 Idiocracy - 2006 Stripes - 1981 Monty Python and the Holy Grail - 1985 Repo Man - 1984 An American in Paris - 1951
