Its been a long time since I've posted into the cab section. I usually go straight from cab to jewelry too fast to take photos of just the cabs. The Amethyst lace and copper fire brick are grooved and ready to wrap. The Petoskey stone is destined to be silversmithed. Amethyst lace Copper fire brick Petoskey stone - This one is larger then I like but I did not want to waste any of this rock. One in a hundred specimen. Chuck

You should be able to tell from the quality, lol The reason I know it is a 1 in a 100 rock is because I looked at more then 100 Petoskey stones and chose that one to make a cab. Now the trick is to not mess up the silver work. Chuck

I thought that was your only source, but I wasn’t sure. I’ll have to start checking over your bucket better before you leave.

Beautiful! As much as I love that lace, my fav is that perfect petoskey stone. I totally believe it's 1 in a 100. If you come across another that nice and want to sell it, let me know.

That is kind of funny because I honestly thought of you when I finished the cab. Just thought the cab belongs in the hands of someone who could do it justice. My setting is all soldered right now and ready for sanding. Fingers crossed. Chuck

Great stuff Chuck...as always.
Ironically, this weekend, I was at Quartzsite and walked into a booth where a guy was selling small slabs of firebrick. I seem to recall you posted a cab before, and I engaged in conversation with the guy about them. At the end of the day, I probably should have bought some, simply because I love the way they look.
Turns out, he's also from MI. I'll have to go back through the show guide to find who the vendor is. I wonder if there's a chance you know him.

I bought 40 small slabs at a show here in Michigan from a vendor based in the U.P. His name was Raymond Just and the company was Northern Michigan Minerals. I have his contact info if you are interested. Chuck

However, I seem to recall seeing a banner in that booth with that name. I was speaking to this guy about firebricks, and I mentioned your work. When I looked up and saw this guy's banner it said he was from Michigan. If you don't mind sending me his info, that would be great. I truly think we're speaking about the same guy due to some of the commonalities we're speaking to. PMs are fine, just not to detract from your thread. Thanks and regards. Dave
