This dude at Burro Creek had this tool which was like the of offspring from a slide hammer that mated with a jack hammer.
It split the rock like it was nothing.
I can't find them online except specialty use ones such as for tires which is not heavy enough.
Can anyone help?

I have never seen a factory built one, all homemade. Do a sketch and take it to a local engineering shop, it should be easy to fabricate.

I needed one recently, found an agate boulder the size of a Volkswagen beetle and just wanted the corner piece. 30 minutes later and a few near misses I had that thing. Probably would have been easier with that slide hammer.

I had a home made one that I tried to use. kind of worked but not any better than a good point and a drilling hammer. Hammer and point a lot easier to carry in a pack than the heavy slide hammer.
Hammer on!

The tool you are looking for is made in Kingman Az and comes in 3 sizes . I have a message into a person who was selling them to get some information for you

Im not going to fix my 20. Too many hoops to jump through. Bring it to Q next year, I need a new project. Right now I have a 16" Royal, good saw, has a couple of quirks but runs and cuts good. Tony

Regarding hand powered jackhammer.
Too easy to build for $100.
Buy the hex chisel of your choice, then a hex "driver" to match. Weld that onto a length of steel bar.
Now make a tubular "hammer". Buy heavy walled steel tube to match the steel bar above (just fits inside).
Weld a 4" piece of steel bar from above in one end of the heavy tube. Weld on ear shapped handles.
Slide this piece over the first and start hammering.
