This is the paint colors used for military aircraft and/or equipment. A friend got me a large piece, about 1" Thick. I've never dealt with fordite of any kind. All or any advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.

You be god damned careful with that. They used to tell us that to work with that stuff you had to have oxy exchange respirators. Granted that was out of the can, but I would still be really careful.

Ya, given that it is (old) paint.. respiratory protection is a definite must. This coming from the anesthesiologist. =)

Either way, CARC paint is some dangerous stuff. I don't know how the dust is, maybe it was the solvent.

I remember the smell of it. It smells like death in about 20 years.
A friend of mine who is a Master Sargent says that it takes about 20 years after a bad exposure to kill you.

Never open up the barrel and breath in the first air that comes out of it. I'm very interested to see this tumbled. The first piece with the tan top-coat is a more recent color.

Sounds to me like it's too dangerous for you to mess with. Send it to me and I'll dispose of it properly for you.

Woofer, all the paint is this year. The colors look like Owhyee colors. I need to know the best way to start Tumbling. Square one But I will be carefull and I will post My pics of the finished product. It might take a while to get to it But it will get done.

Best way to start is to figure out how hard it is. Probably Tough stuff.
