My sister lives in Lake Linden, near Houghton. I try to get up and visit every summer, although I didn’t make it up last summer. That’s one of my favorite spots in the state.

I had the chance to walk that same beach with Jugglerguy last weekend. Looks like it might have been even colder this weekend. This was my favorite picture showing the color of the water from my trip. This panorama shot came out cool too Chuck

Did you find out if they were really Lakers? Do you have pictures? Here is one of my Keweenaw trip reports.

Here is one of my Keweenaw trip reports.I will screenshot some of what he posted and upload them The outside look exactly like a LSA but the insides are something totally different. Now I am wondering what made them so different? Did you cut open any that you found?

I find very few Lakers. The ones I find I leave natural. I find most of them in the eastern U.P., between Grand Marais and Whitefish Point.

I can tell you that those are not laying all over the place. Were they found in mine tailings piles or on the beach? I know that copper agates can be found in waste piles, but they’re very rare.

I didn't think they would be easy to find. As far as where he found them I am not sure. I reached out to him to see if he would provide more information on the location. I noticed that they are not very large in size.
