If you cab it you will remove the tarnish and would have to retarnish it.

Normal natural "Peacock" ore is usually tarnished Bornite. However what is sold to tourists as peacock ore is usually Chalcopyrite that has been tarnished with phosphoric acid. Yours looks chalcopyrite variety of peacock ore. Pyrite also tarnishes with the aid of bleach.

agree with rmf bornite is true peacock copper ore the others will just be a surface tarnish
