Hello everyone! I don't have a tumbler currently but I will probably be purchasing one in the very near future! The only information on tumbling I know if from a few hours of searching around the internet and watching a couple of youtube videos. My main reason for wanting a tumbler is so that I can give my fidget spinners (my main hobby) a smooth stonewashed finish while dampening their sharp edges. I have quite a low budget due to being in high school and not having a job so I want advice from a community of experienced hobbyists before making any actions!

Check with Val Carver at Minnesota Lapidary Supply, he usually has an inventory of used machines that he has taken in on trade. He will test out before selling and refurbish as needed.
Good luck with your project !

cvgjnh If you are in high school are you in a shop class? I made my first tumbler in HS shop (wood working) I used Oak for the ends and used oak for supports between the end points and used 1/2" shaft to roll the barrels on and used two sprockets with bicycle chain to drive both shafts. bearings were 1" water pipe with cast babbit for bearings then drilled out to fit the shaft. Add a drill hole to oil the shaft and add a pully on the end. Just add motor. Yes I got school credit for it too. It worked for 20 years.
