Okay, I bought the Raytech TV-5 with an additional bowl. The 1st 2 rounds in the original bowl (220 grit and the pre-polishing) went fine. So, as advised from various sites, I used the 2nd bowl for the polish phase. I followed the directions exactly - no ceramic media, only pellets, correct amount of polish and H2O. These are two pics of what I got afterwards: The bowl was full of my rocks and everything and as I strained it out, I noticed what looked like pieces of wet paper towel (I use paper towels a lot so I wasn't shocked at this point). Then as I began to rinse I noticed that instead of pieces of paper towel the pieces were actual strips taken out of my bowl!! As you can see above. To say I was upset is an understatement. This is a $25 bowl bought EXTRA for just this one purpose. I had the bowl long enough that I couldn't return it. So instead, I used a very heavy grit with some other rocks with the intention of smoothing the surface. Well, that helped, but then I couldn't use the bowl for polishing anymore. (This was all over approximately 3 months because i also use rotary tumblers for stages.)
After much deliberation, I figured, what the hey, try one more time. I bought a new bowl, another $25. And the following pics show all 3 bowls, the brand new one still unused.
I know this is an extremely long post, please forgive; i really need some help here.
I have been reluctant to use the new bowl; as you can see how *sparkly* it is. But I did.
I will continue my post on a new thread. Thanks to anyone who made it this far!!

What directions told you to use plastic pellets? What you want are ceramic or very small very smooth or already polished rocks, or "smalls" as some call them. Also, fill that bowl to within 1/4 of the top, leaving very little wiggle room. This will assure the rocks rub each other as opposed to banging each other. Should be more like a nice friendly orgy, not a gang bang.

I read it on the Amazon ad for it. But I'm looking at the ditext ions right now and it says the TV-10 can't be used with ceramics, but the TV-5 can. Guess I missed that part. Thank you so much!
