Nice Chuck Drummond Island Rocks. I don't know if you missed it in your other thread, but I was curious about the specs for your two lamps. Do you recall the wattage of the incandescent and the wattage equivalent of the LED lamp? If not, thanks anyhow.

Did you tumble the Snowflake Obsidian with other agates? or was it an Obsidian-only batch?

Beautiful batch!
What is 5&6? I think I found something similar in a batch I am rolling. I liked it so much I pulled it and put it in the cab pile. My plumey stuff is more discrete, almost flower like.

Although there are some imperfections in the first rock, it’s by far my favorite.

My plumey stuff is more discrete, almost flower like. Not sure what it is but I have a bunch I ended up with a bunch in my tumbling mix bucket. Both pictures are the same rock with the plumes on both sides and agate in the center. I am guessing a seam agate. Chuc

Although there are some imperfections in the first rock, it’s by far my favorite. I tumbled that rock in stage one for months and ground on it with wheels several times during the process. I finally decided to leave well enough alone. Chuck

Did you tumble the Snowflake Obsidian with other agates? or was it an Obsidian-only batch? I never separate any of my rocks for stage one. All of my obsidian and apache tears tumble with my agates, jaspers and woods in 46/70. If I see enough obsidian coming down the pipe I will set them aside after stage one and run them together after that. Most of the time I'll only have a few ready and then they just get tumbled in the loto in my mixed rock batches. The snowflakes in this post were tumbled in all stages with the other rocks in this post. Chuck

There was no thought process involved in choosing the bulbs. I just grabbed two lamps that I had in the shop already. Chuck

I had a long talk with Randy Garage Rocker , and I'm thinking my lighting is causing my issues that I'm concerned about. I'm still exploring solutions. If you want to take this off-line with a PM, that's fine. If you want to leave this discussion to others who are trying to hone their photo skills, then I'll look for your answer(s) here. Thanks for taking the time. Dave

Wonderful! Really gaga over the first one.
Photo 5 looks very similar to stuff that is extremely common at a site I know on the NV-UT border, outside of Wendover.

Thanks for taking the time. Dave As I previously stated there was no thought involved on my lighting choice. Two lamps I already had and no bulb changes. I will say that I use the adjustable arms on both lights every time I take pictures. If I had my choice I would replace the swing arm light with another one of the Verilux desk lamps. Chuck
