I am planning to go to Florida to fish the keys and then go to Miami to fish for cichlids to bring home. I have the cichlids all figured out, but I would like any advice on places that are a must see and places that I should make sure to fish at. I will be on shore as I lack the funds to spend 2 weeks on charters. I probably will not be taking my kayak along either as it is too long to fit in the box for that long of a trip.

What Cichlids are you after? Sorry I can't help with either quest, just curious.

I haven't fished the Keys since I was 18 (not that long ago) hahaha Anyways I have friends that have. Here is one of their articles and I've asked Troy Linder for you where he fished his last time there. www.onthewater.com/florida-keys-fishing-foot

I have a 120 full of cichlids, a 72 bowfront full of tropicals, a 65 with the larger grow outs and a 40 breeder with the fry I strip from the females who are holding.
Many of them will get sold as US wild caught to various places. Some I will keep for myself like the jewels and some salvanis. I have way too many yellow labs and need more color.

Troy says 7 mile is always fun. Squid or chunk mullet on a drop shot is his advice
