We have started going to the swap again recently, found these a week ago:
Rutilated tourmalinated? quartz, $2
Labradorite, 2 cabs for $10. Would have just bought the first one, but had to buy them both.
Back
Having only paid $10 for both of them, I figure I can either practice stabilizing on this one and reworking it, or even just throwing it away, lol.
Still has nice color, but pretty fractured.
Large piece of obsidian, $5. Sorry, didn't take a wet pic.
Sort of opaque on one corner
This is glass, $2
Splendid color on the back
So is this
$1
And these just this morning. Common opal.
May or may not cab without falling apart. (Probably will, may have to stabilize)
I do not know what this is, but I liked it. Again, pretty well fractured. May just reshape it and leave it a specimen.
And lastly, Labradorite has been common lately. Maybe some just came on the market.
Paid $10 for the three today.
Thanks for looking. Jean

Very cool finds. Really like the unknown, blueish one. Labradorite is always a fav of mine. Passed on the rest of those cabs today.

Great finds. The blue fractured one looks like apatite.

vegasjames, I think you are correct. Thank you. What a highly variable mineral!

vegasjames , I think you are correct. Thank you. What a highly variable mineral! Have a friend who had picked some up in Quartzite that looked just like that. When I first saw it I thought it was actually dyed because of the unusual blue coloring.

I enjoy your swap meet finds. I even enjoy the word swap meet. Reminds me of my first bike- a nice Schwinn with a sissy bar and banana seat. We don't call them swap meets here. (flea market, rummage sale, yard sale, trunk sale) Anyway.... yes, apatite. I had a chunk with great color, but it fell apart.
