The group shot shows that you got a good polish in a rotary tumbler. You should be proud of that. The carnelians are great and I see a few nice lakers too.

Is that the first batch that was shaped with the 45C? Big difference from trying to shape in a 3lb barrel, wasn't it? I hope you're happy...you should be. Next step is shaping with (at least) a QT66. Nicely done.

Nicely done. Thank you. It is the second batch shaped with the 45C. 1st one I wasnt happy with, but I think that had to do more with my polish than anything. This one I was really happy with. Makes a huge difference! One day Ill get the QT66

Shaping is more efficient due to the extra weight in the barrel, the ability to get the most out of grit that is more coarse than 60/90, and you can also go with rocks that are a bit bigger. For me, I like the fact that my coarse grind is split among two 6 lb barrels. I just happen to find it a bit easier to manage the two loads instead of one big 12 lb load. It just happens to work for me...others are completely happy using 12 and 15 pound barrels in their work.

Im kicking myself for not just doing that to begin with, but that's alright. I'll get it eventually. So many things on my list, but got to save for my move 1st then I can take over space in dads garage
