This weekend, the 19th 20th and 21st our club sponsors the 53rd annual Gem, Mineral, Fossil and Lapidary Show at the Ingham County fairgrounds in Mason, Michigan. Everyone is welcome, kids day is Friday with many activities designed to bring the younger generation into the hobby. Lots to see and do. If you want to see some really great facet demonstrations, these individuals are awesome and runs demos all through the show. Hope to see you there. Imgur is down right now, can't post the flier. www.michrocks.org has the information under the annual show tab.

I hope you guys have a good turnout. I have thought about being a vendor for that one but I turn down any three day shows. It does not pay enough to miss work.
There are some good vendors in the list. I have gotten to know most of them really well. I usually buy my lapis rough from Nayab gems and minerals but at last weeks show I got some nice K2 jasper from him instead. I am good friends with Jacqueline. She has the best gem trees. She buys a lot of slabs and larger tumbles from me each year for gem tree bases. When my kids were younger she taught them how to make them. I have heard a lot of good things about Archy's rock shop but have never seen his setup. I would like to see that one some day.
There will be a guy their named Pete demonstrating slate carving. This past weekend we were demonstrating next to each other. He is really good at getting the kids attention and lets them all do some carving. He has been doing that demo for many years. I still have a piece that he did in my collection.
