Rotary for course and then yes! Lot-0 I used about 50% ceramics in the lot o with them. Didn’t use anything in the course stage 1 day each 120, 500, 1000, 1500 with .5 tsp of appropriate grit and 1 tbsp borax Your success with these 4 steps of short intervals w/high media precent is similar to my findings with glass and obsidian. Not to mention fast rotary grinds for shaping. Because of the fast results glass and obsidian has become a pleasant short tumble. And motivated me to invest in the equipment to melt my own glass for tumbling. I tumbled agates for years and got burned out on 2-3 month cycle times. Taking a break doing glass. I agree with you, a nice shorter tumble was a nice change. I have sodalite that I will do in the spring as a change as well. Glass is interesting- are thy about a 5 mohs?

Thumbs up on the short tumble. Glass varies in Mohs. Most is 5 to 6. Many types of glass. Some polishes better than others. But it all has the propensity to frost and bruise. The Lot-O is an excellent machine for glass because it is gentle. Good to see you found an abbreviated process. In the Lot-O I use a similar schedule on glass to yours. I modified a Vibrasonic that holds 8 pounds and it will polish glass after 4 days in aluminum oxide 220 and one day in aluminum oxide 14,000 using only 25% quartz pea gravel. I shape it in the rotary with silicon carbide 60, but must roll it about 4 days in silicon 500 before moving to the Vibrasonic in AO 220. This is the chosen path.
