In my last post I said one of the tumbled stones was my favorite Montana agate. This video will give that comment some weight. I have a very serious love/hate relationship with these rocks. I have probably purchased 50-60 pounds of rough to get this 6 pound pile of finished tumbles.
Thanks for looking Chuck

I know what you mean Chuck Drummond Island Rocks. As nice as Montanas can look, they've proven to be frustrating to me due to fractures and such, no matter the care that is taken with them. I know they often come with fractures, but I can have a rock that looks great, and then it throws a chip at the most inopportune time. I also agree with @alikat 218. Great music choice.

I agree..Montana moss is a beautiful stone and tumble rough is available for cheap. So hard to find them without fractures though, like you said, 60 lbs of rough only produces around 6 lbs of high quality tumbled stones.

Chuck have you ever had one come out with the "iris" effect? I have never really looked for it. I bought a bunch of rough that was sliced really thin awhile back. I imagine that is why they were cut like that and then nothing done with them. Chuck

I had to put on my shades to look at those. My favorites are the ones with the brown inclusions.

Those are really nice! One of my favorite agates for cabbing. Thanks. Cabbing these can be challenging too. Scratches on translucent agates are a pain to deal with. I usually end up finishing them in the vibe tumbler to avoid the headache. Chuck

I love Montanas. What a beautiful pile of shiny, silky looking stones. Really makes you want to just run your hands through them all.

That pile represents a lot of work and time. I'm a sucker for nice Montanas, very few batches come out of the Lot-O without a couple. That's a fantastic bunch you've got there, thanks for sharing the video.
