you may need to find/ make a gear puller. basically a long bolt, nut with arms attached.

Does it slid on the shaft? looks like the end is burred and would prevent the gear from coming off. A small gear puller will work. google gear puller, a small two arm one should work. If the end is burrred like it looks, i would file it down.

What are you going to do if or when you get it off? can you get a replacement for it?

I agree with woodman it looks like someone had mushroomed the end by hitting it with a hammer. It looks as if the gear is being held in place by a shaft collar. What I would try first would be to get some penetrating oil like PB blaster heat the collar and shaft up with a propane torch not too much though because the oil is flammable and spray some around the collar the heat will tend to wick it between the shaft and collar. Let it cool down and repeat you may have to do it several times over a day or two even. In between applications try to wiggle it back and forth using a couple pipe wrenches you can even whack the handle on the one on the collar with a good solid wack with a hammer. It will eventually break free.

Got it off with a puller. Thought it was an old HP but lots of green paint inside. Wanting to do a refurb. Did Covington make round rail slab saws. Ordered some parts from HP and they don't fit. No bushings and feed screw is too short. Not sure what kind of saw I have. Any help identifying would be great. No Id plate found. Lots of green paint though.

You definitely have a Highland Park, the front feed gear cover is unmistakable, as is the gear. You have an entirely different problem. This is my old faithful HP 14" saw, the tub on this saw is 28" from front to back. Excuse the saw snot, it's been busy. This is the HP 14" saw I recently purchased with a load of equipment. The tub on this saw is 29 1/4" from front to back. It is also wider and deeper than the other saw. The same feed screw will not fit both of them. Call HP, I'm sure they have had this happen before.
