Checked the 45C tumbler this morning and it was not running. I checked the electric outlet and it is OK. Motor turns freely but just doesn't run. Anything else to do to check it? The unit is a replacement from Lortone for a defective unit originally purchased from the Rock Shed September 2018, so it is not that old. Any thoughts appreciated.

Yikes! I’d call Lortone and/or Rock Shed. Good luck!

I’ave already sent a message to Lortone. Not the way I wanted to start the new year. BTW, woke op to snow this morning which is quite rare in the Sonoran desert.

Even though I have two of those, I haven't had that happen yet, so I can't help. Further, I don't know enough about the motors to speak to what can fail with them. You've checked the two things I'd immediately check. I"m assuming there's no hum or anything? Snow? Dang, must have really gotten cold. Guess I'll have to call my folks to see if they got any. They're in Saddlebrooke. Please update when you get an answer.

No hum or anything.
I’m about 30 miles south of Tucson. Snow gone now, we had about an inch and a half on the outside table this morning. Got down to about 31 last night. Prediction 30 tonight, 27 tomorrow night. We get a little cold every year, but this is the first snow accumulation we’ve had in the four years I’ve been here. There is usually some snow in the mountains around us, but not in the valley. Moved from northern Indiana when I retired to get away from the snow.

Jim jimaz, Don't know what to tell you about your motor. Maybe johnjsgems might know. I know exactly where Green Valley is. Everytime I visit my folks, I go to the Tucson Trap and Skeet Club...right on the way to your place...sort of.

If both motors failed from the same outlet I would check the voltage at it. If there is a loose wire in the circuit it could be messing up the voltage and causing the motor to pull too many amps which I believe will take out a small motor pretty quick. I am not an electrician but seems odd for 2 new motors to go out in such a short time.

First failure was not motor. The rubber sleeve on the drive shaft would migrate and jam up. Shaft and bearings were replaced by Rock Shed and problem recurred. Lortone sent new machine with return shipping instructions for old machine. Never heard back as to what the actual issue was. Both Rock Shed and Lortone have provided excellent service.
