I can't wait to learn more about my rock fetish from everyone! I am currently counting the days until the weather warms up enough for me to take another trip to the Great Lakes area and refill my rock supply.

gmarocker where in IL are you located? If you don't mind sharing. My parents live in Bloomington. I have found that the gravel around the motel has lake superior agates in it from time to time and the last time I was there they had about 5 gal of rock from Alabama dumped in with the glacial gravel. My point is if there is no snow there is a place to hunt.

Howdy IL cowboy, and welcome to the RTH from rainy Atlanta GA. North GA is home to the world famous Georgia red flash amethyst, oodles of garnets, star rose quartz, aquamarine, beryl, tourmaline... and..... gold. That is the nutshell except for vary rare snows. We will think about you and help you as much as possible. Best.
