Hopefully. Going to try again with the dremel on this piece. A friend of mine who is wiser (and older ) than me advised me to throw the last one that I was working on in the driveway. I think I may just throw it in the tumbler and see what develops. I decided that he was right, that it wasn't worth the time. I'm old enough to take good advice from those with more experience than me. Anyway, here's try number 3. I'm going to try to get something decent out of it...

I think when you are investing so much time into something, the reward should at least equal the effort. This one has much better potential.

Sometimes being stubborn isn't the best way to go. We'll see, I really like the slab. I didn't cut it very even but I'm still learning. Plus, Walt ( manofglass ) knows a little bit more about these things than I do.

Only about another hour or two of dremel work. Plus a month of tumbling

Ok, maybe a little more than an hour of dremel work. I'm learning a ton by doing this. Learning about undercutting, the importance of starting with a good stone, how starting with an even slab is a good idea... Anyway, here's what it looks like today. Still have a ton of work to go on it but I'm hopeful. Thanks for looking.
