Since I tend to be running from pillar to post at the show, I always forget to write down what I am told I purchased, or find what was written down after smooshing it all in my tote later on. Shame on me, can someone please tell me what I purchased!?!?!? (I think I was told this yellow one was from Australia or African and an opal or opalite). Thanks!!

2nd one is dendritic opal from Australia. First one I'm not sure, I've seen it before but don't remember.

Second certainly is Opalite (dendritic opal) from Western Australia, specific location is probably near Norseman. I have collected there but most of the stuff was Leaverite, (leave her right there) it looked wonderful but once you started doing anything with it it crumbled. The yellow is usually good though. First looks like some sort of Rhyolite.
Welcome from Australia,

You are not the only one who forgets to write down an ID, thinking that he/I will remember it until I get back to the car or home.
The first looks like some of the Mexican Poppy jasper I've seen.

That would be devastating (this is my fav piece I bought). I find myself flipping back and forth between photos of Birdseye Rhyolite and Mexican Poppy Jasper and first of all, my piece is almost monochromatic, not much difference between the orbicular spots and the matrix. I finally decided it is Mexican Poppy Jasper. I looked at so much Jasper at the show, my favorite overall stone, and thus heard the word alot this weekend! Thanks!!!

Nice finds! I think the first one is a darker example of the material I affectionately call "Wildflowers Rhyolite." The material I have seen runs from dark orange flowers into yellow and reds etc. It's my understanding that it is a Mexican rhyolite along the lines of Leopardskin jasper - possibly collected in the same location. If it's the same material here is a story I posted a while back about it. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/post/1030566/thread

I meant to post these pictures - I've cut up all my slabs but some areas looked just like your picture where the flowers were not a lot different in color from the background.

I'm not good at this game
but that first one with the black back ground and orange splashes
looks like a form of obsidian I purchased
The owner of the shop called it firecracker told me it was from Teotihuacan Mexico pretty reliable information as far as location went for what I got although it been awhile since I cabbed it not sure obsidian is the right description but some form a fast froze lava maybe rhyolitic ?
anyway good stuff !
