Yesterday a friend and I unboxed and assembled the 6" Cab King lapidary machine our club just purchased. I watched a youtube video the night before (20 min!) of some guy assembling his and was glad for it. Not sure why the heck they ship it with the three rubber (right) wheels on the shaft and the one rubber wheel on the left and leave you to put on the to diamond wheels, but it wasn't too bad, just a little confusing as to why the wrong sized spacers were on the shaft, the correct ones in the bag...
So, this water system. Oy. First of all these "side spitters" as she and I came to call them, not even sure they are necessary and they are touchy little things. Good thing it was a hot day, we were drenched after fiddling with them!
And those dinky little nozzle jobs that are over each wheel - they get knocked out of alignment whenever you remove the hood/tray. The one over the 80 Grit wouldn't shut off no matter what way we turned the knob (we are calling the manufacturer). I don't see this as a multi-user friendly unit. I think we may just remove the water nozzles
altogether and drill holes in the hood for the water tube, much less fuss, but we hate having to adapt a brand new machine! The connection for the discharge tube is utterly feeble also.
I truly wish that they had listened to me and spent a few more bucks on a stainless steel Kingsley-North (Lortone) unit like mine! Even my friend, who has both a Genie and an old Lortone agreed that this Cab King is not the best choice.
Anyone else have experience with one?

Hey there, I have never used the 6" Cabking but I have been running an 8v1 for about 5 years. In the video it looks to me like the spacers on your machine are not allowing the drippers to align with the wheels properly. It is a bit confusing to get the unit set up as there are a number of different length spacers but I have never had a problem with adequate water to the wheels except when I let the machine sit idle for a couple of months and the lines grow algae. I move the hoods on and off with no contact with the drippers. This could be different with the 6" unit but overall I have been happy with the 8" cabking. Apples and oranges?? I hope you find a solution. Best regards.

Do the trays remove? The think I like about the Genie and how I Modified my stardiamond is geysers connected to a pump. On a Genie a person can either use one or two geysers under a wheel. I strongly believe the more water the better.
Like stonemon I have been using an 8" CabKing for about 5 years. I kneel in front of my machine so I can look directly up at the wheel and tweek the alignment of the nozzles whenever I move wheels around. A little rock snot and the nozzles won't move so easily. We added an 8" x 1/4" 220 grit carving wheel which is very narrow, but it is easy to direct the water exactly to that wheel. With a little use the hood removal gets easier. I used Diamond Pacific machines at a rock club for several months before buying the CabKing, I much prefer this water system. Others prefer the spitters...different strokes for different folks.
