I have just changed the belt on my LS-10 & in the process of adjusting the belt I got to looking at the pulleys & realized things might not be right. I remember about 3 years ago I had changed the pulley because the one that came with the saw looked a little not right. I had someone helping me with the saw at the time who really didn't know what he was doing & for that matter, neither did i. I'm still learning to this day. Don't really know why but it just doesn't set right with me. I think I need to get the right one & I remember the auto parts store didn't have what I needed so we went with the other one which just happened to be handy. Here are some more pictures. I've been running it with this pulley but I'm not sure it's a good thing & I just don't feel right about it. Input please would be much appreciated.

The belt looks right in the motor pulley but looks like it is not correct in the arbor pulley. Pulleys are sized to match the belts. 3L, 4L and so on dictate the width of the belt like 3/8", 1/2" and the pulleys are purchased to match. That arbor pulley looks like is a size up from the belt.

That pulley is a 4" & adjustable. It is what I have been using & I am in the process of ordering the right size as we speak. It was put on a couple of years ago when I couldn't find one locally & I have been using it ever since. I will continue to use it until my new on shows up but I am now wondering if I should change the adjustment on it so that it fits the size of the one on the motor, if that's possible. It's only temporary until the other one shows up.

The arbor pulley should be adjusted to be the same working diameter as the original to maintain original arbor [and blade] speed. Nothing at all wrong with using an adjustable pulley.

Adjusting it in makes pulley larger but on driven end slows down the tool. To align everything you need to adjust motor mounts. Put a straight edge across the pulley edges.

What is the correct pulley size for a LS-12 Lortone slab saw? I’ve removed both the motor and saw blade pulley to use on other saws and have not remember to take photos of them prior to removal and nor did I mark them. I know. Lesson learned and hopefully knowledge is applied next time I move parts.
