What parts? Lortone sells them. Bearings are standard sizes sold everywhere. Lynn

Zarguy you might want to call Lortone and update your info. The last time I called Lortone they told me that they had stoped making and selling saws and that the parts may not be available and if they were available it would take up to two months to get them if I ordered them. I would not count on parts from lortone.

I would not count on parts from lortone. This was confirmed to me in a conversation I had with the owner of Minnesota Lapidary Supply earlier this week. The owner of Lortone told him he could not compete with a company who took their designs (apparently they were not patented) and manufactures them in China. By the way, this company also claimed the name of a once reputable manufacturer when they found out there was no trademark protection on it. Not saying they did anything illegal, but the company presently known as Highland Park Lapidary will not see any of my money. Al

I've been in the market for a small "trim" saw and have the Lortone 2018 catalog which represents several smaller "trim" saw models and their web site still show's saw's in their on-line catalog........However, their on-line purchasing site does not include saw's.
My rock hounding buddy has contacted them in the past regarding their older saw part inventories and has been advised that some of the older models are no longer supported..........But they stated they still manufacture "saw's"............So, I just sent them an e-mail and left a phone message, discussing this issue.........As soon as I hear back (preferably e-mail), I'll post their response here..........not holding my breath, but I did mention this forum by name and requested they "clear the air" for discussion purposes here (marketing ..........BTW, the phone number and e-mail addresses I used were not their on-line contacts, I used a reference my buddy gave me from his supplier, ASC Scientific in Carlsbad, CA, who carries the Lortone line.......Really no need to contact the owner of an establishment, when the hands-on troops probably know more about the everyday dealings anyway.........
Just for clarification, Lortone is an established incorporated manufacture/distributor and has several "trademarks" and patents on equipment they manufacture or sub-let manufactured..........still looking into the "saw" distribution aspect.......TBC...!

Just received an e-mail response from the Lortone equipment dept........:
"Yes, we still are manufacturing trim saws. The only models that have been discontinued are the 18", 14" and 12" slab saws."
I called the rep and asked about replacement parts. The conversation went like this......: "Yes, we still support all of the trim saw's we manufacture. However, parts for the discontinued models are no longer made and older inventory has dried up. We can still search for a few items, but once the word got out we were no longer manufacturing the "slab" saw's, parts inventory vanished quickly. We do not recommend "knock-off" replacements, which have cropped up lately, but understand the "need" factor."..........
Hope this little tid-bit of info from the "horses" mouth helps those in need. I also asked about "patents"..... the rep was knowledgeable, but a little reluctant to go into detail. He stated that they have a few certified and a few pending. However, they rely mostly on their current "Trademark and Copyright" certifications as enforcement for infringement rights..........which they seem not to be to worried about. Knock-offs have been around for years, and do not seem to impact their popularity or amount of sales they currently enjoy. Discontinuing the "slab" saw models has been more profitable, rather than trying to compete in a market that was not cost effective.
That conversation was also in-line with a conversation my buddy had with a rep at ASC Scientific yesterday regarding the Lortone products.........just to tie together the loop....!

sophia13 let us know the specific parts from the list above, I can probably find or fabricate them for you, plus I have a couple clamp upgrades I can either make for you or show you how to make. Please don't go to HP China for your parts unless you have no choice. I am personally acquainted with the owners and managers of Lortone and have done work for them. They don't deserve what the Rowland brothers have done to them.

I actually had a very nice conversation with a rep at Lortone this morning as well. She did basically state the same info that is in the first part of Pizzano's second post. However, when I specifically asked her about the LU6X trim saw combo unit she said they no longer make them either. She did go on to say that they are considering redesigning this model for future production.
