Fun stuff, nice looking stuff, and you did a good job of tumbling it. Some really nice patterns there, thanks for the show.

Are the gold, blue and red Tiger eye all the same hardness? Can they be tumbled together successfully?

I agree with you, I love it too! Your pieces turned out really beautiful. Where did you get the rough? I never had the chance of getting any so far.

Good job!! Tiger Eye is fun to tumble, I think it's one of the first "store" bought rocks I did.

I don't think I know of anyone who doesn't like Tiger Eye. It's always a cool looking stone. You did a great job on those!

Are the gold, blue and red Tiger eye all the same hardness? Can they be tumbled together successfully? Yep, all are 6.5 to 7 mohs. Red Tiger's Eye is just Gold Tiger's that has had a heat treatment. My understanding is it can occur naturally but most of what is for sale has been heated after it was mined. There was one piece of red and a couple of blue in this batch and they turned out nice, just not prominent in these pictures. Al

We had a bag that we have been picking at that we purchased from RockTumbler.com quite some time ago. The rest is stuff that we broke down by hand from bigger chunks like the one in the pictures. Al

I also love tigers eye (have a batch in now actually) You did great, they can be tricky. Nice shine In my opinion polishing is the easiest step for this. Getting a good grind on them without beating them up too bad is most important, it can be prone to spalls, fractures, etc. if banged around too much. Al

Great job on a classic stone. Tiger eye was the stone to tumble back in the 60's and 70's. Still popular to this day.

Wow those are pretty! I have my first batch tumbling and may I ask how you got such great results without fracture or bruising?
