There is no problem at all with using 120/220. I have used both that and graded 220. I happen to have a bunch of graded 220 right now, so that's what I'm using. I use two tablespoons of 220 grit and 1/2 teaspoon of everything after that. I have never had problems doing this. As far as I know Drummond Island Rocks still does the same thing. We both have had very good success with this recipe. I check my rocks two or three times a day. In the 220 stage, I usually have to give them a few squirts of water each time I check them. Just add the water slowly so you don't add too much. It takes a little while for the water to work it's way around the barrel. This video shows in probably too much detail what I do:

Thanks and good to know that I can still use the 120/220 in a vibe. Didn’t get a chance to watch the video yet, but tagged it and will do so later when things settle down for the evening and I have some munchies to go with it. I’m always looking forward to more rock tumbling videos. I think I’ve watched them all and sit here hoping there will be a lot more soon.

I use it as well. I've cut back on the amount by one tsp, but I might have had some other issues with my Lot-O running more slowly than most. 120/220 is fine. No need to worry about using graded grit. Now, I will be honest...when it comes time to buy more grit for this stage, I might end up buying graded 220. Don't know yet. This stage with the Lot-O is tough for many folks to keep material moving, so I've been thinking about seeing what happens with graded 220 vs 120/220.

I was thinking that when the time comes, that I would try both just to see if there were any differences. I find that learning and experimenting to be part of the fun of the hobby for me.
