Hmm very curious. Take all the edges to 45 degrees and I wonder how it tumbles out?

Go for it!. Should polish nicely depending on the barrel size. If it's a 15 pound barrel, you may find that it keeps one orientation and cannot "turn" in the barrel and grinds/polishes more on the long sides rather than the top and the bottom. Just depends on the rock size and the barrel you use.
I would definitely take a little off all the edges. That will help prevent chipping off of those sharp corners.

Hey fossilman how has this gone? we can barely contain our anticip... A correction for your tag - I know it looks the same, but that tag has a different URL, and goes to a different member's profile page. You tagged the wrong fossilman. I believe you were looking for Fossilman . Mike. His RTH account name and screen name are different. I'm curious as to how this project is going as well. What's up with that, Mike?

Hahahahaha I tell everyone I have one gear and it's the "Granny gear"... LOL 3 years, 6 months, 25 days later. The rock has become essentially a gigantic half football cabochon, simply due to erosion.
