I have mentioned before that I keep a few rocks from every batch to go into my personal collection. If I had to guess I would say there are about 40-50 pounds that have made the cut out of about 1,200 pounds of finished product. Some make the cut based on being flawless specimens and some make the cut based on pattern and eye appeal or even just rarity of the material. I want to photograph a bunch of them to create a really cool album so as I get them done I'll also try to post them here. I'll photograph them all over time but some of these will be removed from the favorites basket to make room for newer better tumbles. 1A - Lake Superior agate (side one) 1B - Lake Superior agate (side two) 2 - dendritic agate with druzy pockets 3 - seam agate (maybe turkish?) 4 - thunderegg slice 5 - bruneau jasper 6 - opalized pet wood 7 - This one is neat becasue some white dots break throught he surface and others can be seen below the surface. Maybe an oolite? 8 - pet wood 9 - rainforest jasper 10 - mexican agate slice? Thanks for looking Chuck

10 is likely agua neuva, I think, and not sure I spelled that right. Gorgeous! And I really like 3 a lot, too.

I have a small batch of Bruneau jasper in the tumbler right now. I love that stuff, but the Laker is my favorite here. What a perfect specimen.

And that's how tumbles should be done! I can't really pick a favorite out of this bunch, they're all spectacular.

Outstanding stones with a nice high gloss. Kudos to you. While much smaller in scale, I also have separate containers of "my favorites" from the rest of the batch. I usually pull 1-2 from each batch; sometimes I don't like any of them to make my faves. Did you collect these? I like seeing what others are finding, cutting, and/or polishing.

You got an absolutely KILLER shine on that Bruneau! Gorgeous. Love that Laker, too.

Those are beautiful specimens Chuck. The Laker and the thunderegg core are 😍😍. I had no idea you could polish the core with the rhyolite shell. Now I want to go buy some egg pieces to try. The polka dotted rock looks a little like a couple of pieces my friend brought me from Teralingua Tx and the spotted basalt I find locally.

They are not super easy to do. A lot of ceramics are used and a bunch of the rhyolite flakes off and then at the end of the batch you need to sort the ceramics and remove the debris. Chuck

That one is gorgeous too Chuck! I wondered about the rhyolite. It's softer than the agate cores isn't it?
