Hello! I’m new to this forum. But I’ve been reading lots of posts here about the Genie geysers and how they often stop working. The Art center where I take classes has a machine that stops working frequently. I’ve suggested that they just use a separate air pump instead. In one of the rock forum posts I saw instructions on how to make your own geyser from a chunk of brass. My question is this: is there a source for a readymade geyser that can be attached to an independent air pump and tubing? Do aquarium shops have these? Thanks fir your help!

I have a titan with a 35 yr old geyser. when the pump failed it was cheaper to get an air pump for a fish tank. then my geyser did not work well. I got frustrated and put my big air compressor on it and pushed 100psi through the geyser in clean water. after about 10 min it gave me no more problems on the fish tank pump. Be sure the geyser is pulled out of the water when not used, dont let it set in dirty water long and let it blow out the water in it each time you stop using it.

someone on the forum has a link for a supplier that sells a geyser cheaper the DP. I just can't remember who.

Kingsley North sells the replacement brass geyser for $18.95 plus shipping. I don't have wheels, just a flat lap, so I cannot speak to how well this works. I have, however, used this company for other things, and would recommend them.
Brass geyser for Wheel Wetter replacement
It is in stock now.

The geysers themselves would be usable with an air pump. The most likely problem with the club set up us lack of oil on the leather. If a couple of drops don't help take the pump apart, it is easy. Take the screw out of the leathers get them oily reassemble. The other main issue being the belt.

Welcome from Washington.
If your art center has an ultrasonic cleaner you could give that a try at clearing the blockage. After you have a functioning geyser, just before turning off your cabbing machine, momentarily blocking the geyser spray with a finger will help to blow out any grit that could potentially cause trouble.
