Sold a copper bracelet to a lady and she seen the one with the turquoise on it and asked if I could put this broach on it. Of course no isn't in my vocabulary and always seems to be touchier than it looks. Well made in Mexico with maybe 28 ga. Back plate. It took a little warp and the stone fit back but rocked. I finally got it back to where the stone won't fall out and rock. The a turquoise stone fell out of her pendant and went to put it back in and the maker didn't make the bezel to fit the stone. It was just a touch off. I had to re shape it and now if it comes out it will be an act of God. The other things just works in progress I need to finish tonight and in morning

I first thought scarab beetle carved in that stone until I saw Pat's idea of a face.
Well done Billy! It does look like you're slacking off a little though 😆

Beautiful work.
My best friend's father was a gold smith and I spent a lot of time at his house. He had an envious life. He worked his ass off during the Christmas season and took long vacations in the summer. In his shop window there was a sign 'no repairs'.

Yah I pretty much only do repairs for friends and on pieces I have made. I hit the torch to a belt buckle one day and it was pewter...well needless to say it is still a puddle. And thanks for the compliment

Mis Robin, I hate to say the one with the Turquoise you were hoping to come back ispired the lady to have the face put on her bracelet. So no bracelet for you. The stone is citrine and the bug is a patterned plate I used to raise the stone a hair in the setting.

Gotter to work though. I have a necklace that was my mother’s. Silver sheen obsidian carved with a similar face. Cheap but interesting setting. I figure about 1930s.
