Went and gassed up. They say it shouldn't be a problem for price and supply, but better safe than sorry.
We really need to beef up our cyber security on infrastructure.

Yeah. Infrastructure is dated and was put in place mostly before cyber security was even s thing. Of course it doesnt help when gov funds a cyber security vulnerability study then publishes the findings online and unclassified.

Actually a bit surprising because with the amount of upgrades the power company was doing when I worked there I was sure there was a tax break or subsidy involved.

Won't effect gas prices NOT. Yes they are already back pedaling on that statement. Gas went up a nickle locally already.

Daughter's friend witnessed a fist fight at the pumps this morning. Gas is up 30 cents. Pumps are running out of gas and lines are long.

Don't let a good opportunity to panic slide by. They are already operating a good part of the pipeline by hand (The virus affected the SCADA systemon automatic valves but there are always manual bypasses) and the rest is to be open by end of week.
But the sheep will panic no matter the reason.

We get 30 cent to 50 cent changes day to day without any news or problems like this. So nothing new until it starts changing by dollars or continual daily increases.

Dedicated lines may do the trick. They cost more of course, but we know who will pay the difference. Why expose critical resources for others to exploit?

Completely isolating a Control Network is a major task. Not impossible but costly and procedures need to be rigorously enforced. It requires dedicated hardware that never has contact with any other Network, That includes e-mail, Internet access, Software updates, etc, etc.
Usually this breaks down when someone connects with a non-dedicated hardware.
All this leaves one wondering about the security of all of the systems that each of us probably access on a regular basis. On-line banking comes to mind. We all love the convenience of being able to move money between accounts easily. On-line payments, really nice. E-mail really nice. Forums like this one, really good. All of these things that we have gotten used to are potential gateways for the bad folks out there.
I bet there's some Network Security folks losing sleep over this wondering about their own systems.

My sister in law spent a few days here. We drove her back this morning. We went from Va Bch to Gloucester (near Yorktown/Williamsburg) about an hour and a half drive with the tunnel traffic. We passed a LOT of gas stations. The lines were not long at that time of day (they are now), but half the pumps at almost every station were closed.
A guy DH works with saw a guy on the side of the road selling gas in plastic bags. So, yeah, some people really are doing that.

Yep, and a major pipeline to the gulf was attacked by Hunters dad. Wonder if he got a bonus.

It's like the TP crisis all over again... Gas cans probably flying off the shelves every place that sells them. I figure hold tight unless your gas is critical. Once everyone has filled their tank, then what?

From Citizenfreepress yesterday Gas prices are high and so is Karen…
This brainless wonder was not on the side of the road selling it, she was at the gas station filling the plastic shopping bag. But no worries, she double bagged it, lol.
Never in my life have I ever seen someone so moronic!!! Hope she kills herself before she breeds and passes her dimness on....

You know what they say - "Never let a good crisis (whether real or imagined) go to waste."
I'd been putting off getting gas, but it was just above 1/4 so decided to fill it. Not hoarding by any means, just had to get some. The Costcos have some relatively cheaper gasoline, so went there to get it. It has been continually going up, Premium was $3.999 per gallon.
