I have a hopper that looks pretty similar to these from a lapidaryist's estate. Never have come across anything that looked similar, but these pics popped up on an old auction page...
the hopper is suspended by four springs on top, on the bottom is a shaft with two bearings, between the bearings, two counterweights and a pulley. Looks like the drive pully is directly below a ways. Wondering if this model was a DIY in a magazine a while ago or such?

A Viking tumble vibe had the same shape hopper, and the horizontal shaft, but no cables and they hid the motor and shaft inside the base.

These were made by Dodson and Evans Lapidary out of Bliss, Idaho. I bought an old warehouse and it has parts to make these and lots of parts for other things, all labeled Dodson and Evans.

Thanks for that, interesting. These look like they had removable rubber liners, my homemade version doesn't That would make cleanouts a PIA, so I haven't felt the urge to complete it. One thing that keeps me from using the vibrasonic more, having to unbolt the two hoppers to do a cleanout...
