I have found a star diamond vibratory lap for sale on the Facebook Lapidary equipment page. It appears to be in fairly decent shape. Does anyone have knowledge of this brand and if 250 seems reasonable? Thanks!

250 USD? If so I would think it is fairly reasonable. Do you have any experience on a lap? If not you might want to get a feel for it first before spending money.

Also, if it has interchangable wheels, does it have them all? If not, make sure they wouldn't cost more than the actual machine.

We appear to be talking about two different types of machines. I'm talking about the machine with pans.

I have one of those in my garage. Have not used it in a while but they work great. As long as the motor is good and the plate is not too worn you will be ok. use a steel edge to make sure the plate is not dished. I do not think you can find replacement plates and the cost to mill it is about $150.00 here in SOCA. Sorry I have no idea what a fair price would be.

The note about checking for a dished plate was sage advice. These folks are a couple hours away, so the gas cost may negate the savings. Also, I was really wanting a bigger one so I could put on more thundereggs and slabs. We shall see, maybe they are going to be traveling this way at some point.

If you have a worn plan that is dished, look around for a small machine shop. When I needed mine resurfaced the larger machine shops wanted $150 to $200 to do it. I found a little 1 man operation that did my 10 inch pan for $25 and 2 15 inch pans for $50 each

I would pass if it has aluminum pans. Cast iron or steel have a longer operating life and machinists may be more willing to turn them true again. I like having a couple different sizes of pans as I don't always have enough thundereggs or agates to fill the large pans

Just pulled my Vibratory lap off the shelf to measure it for size It is a 15 or 16 inch but wow shipping cost on these is your main concern. This thing must be 50lbs. Not for sale but our club gets these from time to time and puts them up for sale because they are not useable in the shop. I will keep you in mind if we get one as a donation.
