I found these two while hounding the west buttes today. I've never seen anything like them out there before... Any thoughts?

First one looks like a jasper, possibly bloodstone. Second one is an agatized fossil, appears to be shells similar to script stone only with the agate.

I think I'm going to slab both of them. I hope they hold up to it! The top one is about cantaloupe size...so my 10" is going to struggle a bit. I'd love to get several cabs out of that shell agate...

Agree with jasper on the top one. Doesn’t look like bloodstone to me. Agree on agatized shells for the second. Both should make some cool cabs.

Cool rocks, Jason! Looking forward to seeing them slabbed and cut.
The colors on the first one remind me of Carrasite, but that's impossible since it comes from the Owyhees. You can see similar colors in this picture.

The jasper looks like it came from my yard, I thought you told USMC15 there wasn’t any good jasper out there! The colors and patterns look promising. That other find sure does look like it contains a bunch of shell fossils, another possibility could be a fragmented membrane agate. That is the first really "interesting" piece I've seen out here! LOL I will be looking up fragmented membrane agate here in a minute! I did take some slabs of both and added pics to this thread: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/96116/
