Was looking at today's Birthdays and jakesrocks turned up. Don was a great contributer to RTH. He was a weath of knowledge. In honor of his Birthday, I went back through some of his posts.

Don was a wonderful person. Happy birthday in Heaven, Don. I'm sure you have the biggest Fairburn collection ever up there.

Don was the catalyst for me joining this forum. He had already passed away, but I had been searching rockhounding for Fairburns, and it led to some of his posts on RTH. Well, one thing led to another...and now y'all can blame Don for y'all having to put up with me now. I wish I had been around while Don was here...his knowledge about Fairburns in particular is sorely missed. He was a real asset...and still is, as his posts on here are invaluable. Happy Birthday Don...and thank you for everything you did for RTH.

I don’t know if I’d use the word “blame.” Thanks to you being here, we are richer in Fairburn and TeePee pics, memes and adventure stories, just for starters. And at least one person gets my jokes.

Missed this one. I've said it before, but he's pretty much the reason I joined RTH even though he had already passed. Thank you, sir, RIP, and happy belated.

I miss Don's spirit and humour as well. Loved his playful bantering. He didn't pull punches, and always called a spade a spade. I have to wonder if Jake passed before Don was buried, and if he was buried with him, as Don had intended? I hope his wife was able to handle all of Don's accumulations and projects. My, but he had a lot of possessions. Has anyone been in contact with her?

His name evades me right now, but the trucker friend who was put in charge of his estate was still posting equipment in FB sales groups a year or so ago. Don wanted it to hit the market a little at a time, there is probably still stuff in the shed.

And I remember Don telling Mike Fossilman that he would have Bob pick up a box of stuff for Mike when he next stopped by, and have him deliver it to Mike. So maybe Mike knows his name? Fossilman ? Having just a very vague notion of all the stuff Don had, I'm sure there's still plenty left.

Happy Birthday Don. I never got to know him very well but early in 2016 when the forum came up for sale and the call went out to raise money to buy it and keep it from being sold to a commercial interest, he jumped all over it. He offered up some real good stuff for sale in our fund raising and his auctions generated the most revenue of anyone and he was super happy to do it - even though shipping items was already a struggle for him at that point. He told me privately that he knew his time was short and he was thankful that he could rest easy knowing the forum was safe. I wonder if he got an exemption and got to take the Fairburns with him. I like to think so. In fact, I believe he said a few times that he would take some with him. Maybe it's just because it's Halloween season and I'm watching Lore on Prime but the first thought that escaped inside my twisted brain was ... lets dig him up and find out! hahaha Lets shake his boney hand, thank him for his service and take his rocks. I bet he would still find a way to kick our asses for trying
