If you can't find it then a good rule of thumb on all saw blades is 2,000 sfpm, then adjust up or down accordingly as to how your saw cuts.

After you find a "viable product" you can file an "intent to claim" with the BLM, this is also called "discovery". You are allowed 60 days to take some product to market and see if you have a sellable product. If you do have a sellable or viable product you can then proceed with the rest of the claim process.
When you put your posts up there is the 4 corner posts and a discovery post, the discovery post should have your paperwork inside of a jar or can or whatever you devise to protect your paperwork from the elements and is usually situated right at your dig site. Your corner posts have to be put up before you can make your formal claim and you have to check with your county seat to make sure you are not filing over someone before you submit your claim.
Good luck with it................Tony

I cut one a few weeks ago that is definitely not safe for work. I would post it but it is too graphic.

It is an 8" blade but it will cut a 24" piece of material. I cut marble with mine to make built in seats in custom showers, it is surprisingly fast cutting in marble for what little machine it is. I also use it to cut large tiles, although it is a little underpowered for tile cutting, my 10" MK saw does a better job at cutting tile but it won't cut a tile larger than 12" without some difficulty.

I have one of those, it is great for cutting marble and large tiles. It sells brand new for $289 so that is not that great of a deal although it is still less than new.

The saw blade we used to cut the chunk was dead afterwards, so that may be a factor in deciding what it is. I put a chunk of plasma agate in to cut a slice off of and it ran all night long and only cut approx 2 or 3 inches into the piece. I replaced the blade the next day and cut the plasma agate in about 15 minutes.

It was a great party! We had 88 people at last count (not all from this forum) and Lynn (zarguy) and Ed (stoner) gave away some prizes at the end around the campfire. It was great to see all of you old and new, hope to see more at next years!
I didn't get one picture as I was too busy running around trying to say Hi to everyone and I plumb spaced it out. Sorry guys, hopefully someone got some pics for us.

I usually will give them an approx value that they will receive if they have an auction. They will have to pay the auctioneer, and they will have to spend several hours/days getting the estate ready for an auction. Then they will have all kinds of people coming in and looking the stuff over and parking, etc.
Then I tell them what I will offer them, it is lower but there are no other fees. They don't have to get it ready, no other people will be coming over, and I will do all the work getting it out of there. I also incur all the costs to move it, store it, repair it, and sell it.
It has gone both ways for me but I know I have been upfront and honest with them and they can make their decision based upon what they have learned.
I think you handled the situation well. I would have dropped my percentage more than you did after it has been cherry picked though because it will take longer to recover the initial investment. But if you both are happy then it was a good deal.
Good deals are fun!

I ran out of saws and I was bored so I went and bought the ideal. It is missing the screw feed components and the shut off is a really bad design so I think I am going to redo the feed to weight feed and move the shutoff and make it so it is an automatic shut off. Cleaned her out today, whoever had her before was running diesel, she stunk bad! Hope to have her smelling good in a day or two.
