8:15 and it is 100 degrees. The high today was 115. Power is out. Third outage in the last two days; not rolling outages. The last two years there have been a lot of fire prevention outages. I have 3 battery power stations and a lot of battery powered lanterns. I thought I could hook up my router to one of them so I have internet. Tomorrow is suppose to be 104 and not cooling off until Sunday. I'm hoping for sooner. When it gets really hot it can produce the fog to come in and really cool things off.

I did a poor job asking the question based on the responses. The market generally determines the selling price factored with the cost of the rough.
What I am interested in is what does it cost to cut one slab on a 14inch saw? Cost of blade/number of cuts in a blade's life. Cost of electricity based on use; rate x draw x duration of cut. I have a high electric bill that has tiered pricing. Slabbing when the a/c is running is not a good practice.
When I cut a slab to make cabs, the cost to cut is not significant. What I consider is value of cabs made vs cost of material to make them. My goal is 3 times. I want a $25 slab to produce $75 in cabs.

Assuming a 14inch saw? I only slab to make cabs so time was the only factor. Electricity used and blade wear among other factors.
I might want to sell some slabs. I know what the rough costs, I'm not trying to make anything for my time.

I buy nonprescription readers at Costco. Eye protection and magnification. I use them working grinding, on the computer and reading fine print. I was buying 4x at Amazon. I had cataract surgery and my vision improved so I only need 2x now. I have a lot of them, lost, temporarily misplaced or damaged. I tried prescription readers with astigmatism correction but for my eyes they weren't necessary.

My wife passed away early Wednesday morning. She couldn't recover from the surgery. The odds were against her. Her greatest fear was ending up in a nursing home and although her brain was functioning well, her quality of life was not good.
I have a lot of things that need taking care of, so grinding will be on hold. I am not interested in getting replies to this.

I think I have it figured out. The camera needs to be further from the object. I've photographed this cab for more than 5 years and this picture is representative. Only cropped.

I duck taped the cab to the Ott lite so I could hold the camera further away.

I take pictures to list on Etsy. No matter the size they get forced into a box and the width of the entire picture is a factor whether the picture gets truncated or not. I reduce and crop pictures before posting them here. A large picture will show more, but I am stuck on the size. I was posting pictures on facebook and I reduced the size as I do for here and the picture quality was so poor they rejected the pictures.
What I have found is that basic photoshop is a poor tool for correcting a picture other than straightening and cropping. I have a very good camera, but I can't get it to compensate for the raw picture.

I could use some help.
When I list on Etsy, I take 3 pictures under different lighting. I had a problem with focus and solved that by getting a camera with better autofocus. My objective is to have the pictures match the cab. A frequent problem is the picture makes the defects much more than actual. Other problems are the picture shows less contrast and shine than actual. When I design, I am looking for contrast and values. The picture should show that accurately. A frequent comment I get from buyers is the cab is nicer than the picture which is better than the picture is nicer than the cab.
I don't have a light box or a formal lighting set up so picture quality varies based on available light.
Suggestions?

She was moved to a regular room from ICU today. I've tried to call her, but she doesn't pick up. She has a phone and knows her home phone number.....

When a cab it is dropped, it ends up a long way from where it is expected to be found or it is never found.
Not just flying off a wheel or polishing pad.
