rockjunquie
But, I learned since that people who know they are dying will treat their loved ones really awfully.
I didn't know this was a thing. I'm glad you mentioned it because it helps me to understand why someone close to me behaved so horribly while he knew he was dying many years ago. It always bothered me that I couldn't think well of him since, but now I guess I understand that knowledge of one's impending end can bring out the worst in a person.

I've been working at my leather working skills. Here's a pistol holster made from stingray skin.

Merry Christmas everybody. Here's a special Christmas edition that has a nice red jasper gastrolith showing on the outer surface.

Dave, I'm so glad you're home and doing so well!! We'll have to hear the "combative" story sometime. Thank you for the education about stroke. Some of it I didn't know. Great reminder, too.
Do you suppose it involves a rock hammer? Isn't there a photo floating around here somewhere of Dave threatening the photographer with a rock hammer? It seemed menacing.

Combative, huh? There's got to be a joke in there somewhere. Glad you're back.

Here's one where some ancient man knocked a big agate flake off for knapping purposes.

Dave has been missing in action lately so I called his home and spoke with his wife Naomi. She informed me that he had a stroke last week, but they are pleased he's doing well and is expected to return home by Christmas. I hope Dave doesn't want to ring my neck sharing this news, but he's an important member here and many of us think well of him and would want to know. 1dave when you read this I want you to know you're not off the hook for completing the agate book and I still want my autographed copy!

Tell your son you reconsidered his question and then ask him to perform some act of service for you as a gift. It will increase your bond together and generate joy within himself.

Good for you, stefanA year ago I decided to eat better and so I utilized my garden a lot for our food needs. I wasn't really trying to lose weight but I lost 40 pounds within a few months just by cutting processed foods out of my diet and using the garden for everything possible.

It was six degrees here yesterday and today, plus we got some significant snow last week. I'm grateful for the precipitation because of the drought we've had for several years now. When it gets cold like this I remind myself it's all relative because I remember numerous 50 below zero days when I was in northwest Wyoming. And that's nothing compared to what they get in eastern Siberia, or Tok, Alaska.
I have to admit that the older I get, the more I like room temperature.

Jean, I've always gotten the impression that you are tougher than woodpecker lips and if anyone is going to sail through this it will be you. All the best, Randy.
