We typically go on Saturday as well although I have to check the basketball schedule. Might be Sunday after church. We'll find out.

Usually, I hit up Christopher's booth and John's Nimitz-Class RV for rocks and equipment. Not quite sure how John gets the RV up there...
Jim it would be great to finally meet you!

Excellent ... It would be great to see you guys. The holidays and school schedule make it difficult for us to get out to the Quartzsite show so this show usually kicks off the rockhounding year for us.
John, I saw photos of you in BlueSky (Susan's) Quartzsite post. Hope the show went well for you!
Larry, I've been following the posts you and Diane have put up. Looks like you two are doing well.
Thanks Paul

Hey Gang:
Anyone heading up to the Stoddard Wells Tailgate Show this year (http://www.vvgmc.org/tailgate)? Last year was a bust as far as rockhounding field trips go - we didn't get out once, then my Land Cruiser's transmission goes, then my Intrepid's eletrical system fails, and a myriad of other health, family and job issues show up. My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is seeing us through everything but it was an exciting year, to say the least.
So ... I'm hoping to kick off this year with getting back to the show's, maybe a trip to the OceanView mine, and some field trips out to the desert.
Anyway, hoping to see folks out there!
Thanks Paul Shiroma

Hey Gang: Any vendors out there that carry these types of geodes? I think the common name is "Mexican Coconut Geodes". Looking to make a purchase in the next quarter or so. The local retailer is out and won't be getting any for a bit so I thought I'd ask around. Thanks! Paul Shiroma

To Shotgunners question at me: I'm completely satisfied and a loyal customer now. Very very pleased with Republic's service and setup. Being in socal, the reception is just fine. I'm still on the Defy XT as it's got everything i need and I'm going to wait until the MotoX is stable and the bugs worked out. It looks like Scott is satisfied with his so after my Christmas debts are worked of I may upgrade us.

Roger - belated reply. If you get back out there, you can hike along some of the ridges east of Ygnacio Valley Road and pickup small marine fossils - mostly clams and such. PM me if you go back and I can get you exactly locations. The formations are all sandstone so the fossils are not high quality items; just interesting specimens to collect. There's also a shop called Consolidated Rock and Mineral up in Vacaville, about 45 minutes north of WC. I grew up in WC and would have moved back but for "life" reasons. It's such a beautiful area. Actually, we just got back from a short vacation to visit my parents.
Anyway, sorry for the belated reply. Not much use now unless your jobs takes you back there. Paul

Thanks for taking us along, Susan. That was a really great report. It's a pleasure to see these trips and "participate virtually" LOL. Looking forward to seeing the slabs.

Hey Jim: Sorry, I've been out of the forum for a bit and just noticed the post. Can you setup a wireless router, like a DLink or something? Then you can connect the computer via the normal ethernet connection and get a wifi signal for the phone.

x2 on Mel's comments regarding both your finds and living in Commiefornia. Seriously, that's pretty awesome that you walked away with so much! Looking forward to seeing your slabs. Paul
