Wish I could get a spot at that show... I've been trying for a few years! Pretty funny since it's only a few miles from my house. I'll drop in and say "Hi"!

PLEASE NOTE
Tommy is still up for doing a go fund me! YAY! He is working on the details now. Apparently, the price for a group funding is higher. That's just the way it goes. Everyone will be free to decide for themselves if they want to contribute and how much.
More to follow...
Tommy has a lot on his plate right now, but he is working on the proposal. The details will become available soon. This will be a Go Fund Me. The amount of the drive will be the whole asking price and no more. Tommy is going to assume full responsibility for this thing and put a lot of work into it. Hopefully, we can get LOTS of support for this!
I actually have a big problem with doing the "gofundme" approach. I think it results in too many cooks in the kitchen. The only way I see a group working is if a few select people team up. Then it would be more of a "board of directors" rather than a mob of interested parties.

My 2 cents... I've offered Mark $2500 for the domain (and all that comes with it), and he said:
"Hi Jeff - thankyou for your offer - I will be waiting for a while to see what else comes in offer wise as I am sure you'll appreciate.
I would like to do this faster but have to give myself a chance after all these years!"
So, it seems like he wants more than $2,500 even for an individual purchasing it. I imagine it would be hard for the group to come up with substantially more than that.

rockjunquie I put in a bid to Mark to purchase it, it wasn't enough. Hadn't thought about doing a joint purchase with roy, johnjsgems, and catmandewe though. I know Tony already has a well established Facebook group that he sells on, and I think Roy is an admin on that group as well.

How much time should I plan for to take in the rocks at desert gardens? Trying to plan a trip with Quartzsite as one of the stops. You could easily spend an entire day at Desert Gardens, or several days, depending on if you wanted to see everything. At the very least, you'll want to take a few hours just to walk around and see the various setups, even if you only browse 1/5 of them.

I know as far as Desert Gardens goes, lots of people stay open. Most everybody has tents up to help stay out of the rain.

I had originally thought the seller was just using the word "Estwing" as a search keyword. Larry C. Even just using it once as a search keyword is against the eBay policy.

I also reported the item to eBay, as it violates the eBay Brand name use policy. :-)

eBay buyer protection would have had you covered.... file a claim, state "item not as described", and the seller is responsible for 100% of return costs, no matter what the seller's return policy states. eBay is very finely tuned to protect the buyer, and not the seller.
From the eBay money back guarantee fine print: "It depends on the reason for the return and the seller's return policy. In most cases, sellers designate that the buyer will pay for return shipping and any restocking fees if specified in their return policy. Some sellers offer free return shipping. If the item is damaged or not as described, sellers must cover return shipping costs. When you're responsible for return shipping charges, we'll charge your PayPal account if the item is shipped with an eBay label."

Should we start a new thread for actually keeping track of the box? I'm not sure that the sign-up thread is the best way. (I'm willing to use it though, just think it would be cleaner on its own thread!)
I have gotten the box, taken lots of pictures, taken a bunch of slabs, and just need to put in all of the material I'm adding, then it will be on its way... speaking of which, who's next? Can you send me your address?
Depending on if we're going to do the posts on this thread, or start a new thread, I will post the pictures and all of the excitement soon!

You know that your link for this system takes you right back to this thread? I'm not in the market for whatever this is, but you may want to check if your local UPS Pack-n-Ship store could ship this thing out and the cost. Sure would expand your potential buyers if this wasn't local pick up only. In response to your first part... ah, crap. That will be fixed shortly. Thanks for pointing it out! In response to your second... it cost about $120 to ship it to me originally, and that was with me picking it up at a UPS store location. I would estimate it to cost $200+ for them to pack it up (I don't have the top to the box anymore) and ship it. Southern California has more members than just about anywhere else on RTH, so I'm giving that a try first. Thanks again for pointing out the link error! Jeff

Hi All, I have an unused (I've opened the box, but haven't even taken the system out of it...) Easy Clean system, along with a spare connection kit. List price for the system itself is $1,250. I'm offering it, along with the spare connection kit, for $675. This is for local pickup in San Dimas onlyEasy Clean Oil Recovery SystemWhy, you may ask? Well, I got a bit ahead of myself... I was planning on moving to an industrial space where there would have been ample room for it, so I purchased this to help keep up production. Unfortunately, the industrial space fell through, and now I have this thing taking up room that I don't really have. I take cash, credit, or checks. Thanks for looking!

I have the Loto! Sadly I didnt get to meet Jeff! Planning to just go visit soon. Thanks Jeff! Oddly, i am mystified at this machine. Its a cludge of stuff, glued in weights on cooling fans, glued on wood dowl as a fulcrum for vibrations, flexible sheet metal frame.... toilet plunger for a tank.... Pretty red powder coat. Wierd. Imho, retail is overpriced for what it is, and underpriced for what it DOES! And this was a good deal. Thanks again Jeff! Hey Scott, I'm sorry I missed you too! Come on over any time on the weekend, or whenever! Glad you like the machine. You shouldn't have any problems with it moving around while running, don't you think?
