Swali (some people also call it Swazi) Agate, and Botswana agate are both spectacular.

If I'm doing small shipments, I exclusively use padded flat rate envelopes. I can fit vastly more in there than I can in a SFRB (5-7 pounds of rough, or half a dozen slabs), for essentially the same price. Requires careful wrapping if I'm sending slabs, but I have less than 1% breakage using them. If I'm just doing 1-3 slabs, I'll put cardboard on each side of each slab, then wrap those in 2 layers of self-sealing large bubble envelopes. If I'm doing more expensive slabs, or more than just a few, I'll use the eBay branded box (along with wrapping like described above) contained in the padded flat rate envelope. I've also fallen in love with eBay branded padded envelopes and boxes... very affordable (especially if you have an eBay store subscription... you get a decent credit every quarter which will pay for a LOT of envelopes and boxes), and lets you ship up to a pound domestically via USPS first class package rates... between ~$2.50- ~$5.00, depending on weight. Hi All,
I'm lowering my asking price on this to $1100. Thanks!

I never really got the appeal of Colla Wood. Sure, it's gorgeous, but way overpriced. ($3000 for about 3.6 kg? $833/kg? I'll stick to my nice, cheap, Pietersite! )

I buy and sell (and cut) fairly large amounts of Mtorolite... and I've never run into problems with it undercutting before. (Hopefully you didn't get yours from me, or I'll have egg on my face, LOL.) I mostly have people asking me for the mossy variety, and have never had any reports of it misbehaving.

Does this material need to be stabilized or is it solid? It is quite soft, but generally very stable. I've never had to stabilize any of it.

Hi all! I have a large amount of Stichtite rough available for purchase. I'm asking $25/lb for it for A grade, or $15/lb for mixed grade. (A grade is 85% or more pure purple, mixed grade is approximately 50-70% purple in light to dark green serpentine matrix.) Shipping is $8 in the U.S. for up to 5 pounds, or $14 for more than 5 pounds. Discounts are available for bulk purchases. The material averages around 2-3 inches x 1 inch in size, with some a bit smaller or larger. I do have larger pieces (anywhere from 3-15 pounds) available. Here is a piece that has been slabbed, so you can see what the interior of the stone looks like...

Very nicely done! The stone is beautiful and has good uniformity. How did you shape the stone to fit the pendant setting (hand sanding/dremel/Cab machine - other)? I did the cab last year on my cabking. Yesterday I did all of the silverwork... I formed the pendant to fit the stone. All the silverwork is original. The bezel sides are 3/16" tall 24 gauge sterling, and the backing plate is a piece of 18 gauge silver plate. The bail is 1/8", 24 gauge strip that I formed into a loop and soldered to the backing plate. (Although this is my first completed pendant, I've gone through probably half a dozen or more false starts to perfect my techniques, LOL) Here is one of my earlier attempts that almost, but didn't quite, work. (I didn't know when I did this one that square corners are the hardest to do... oops!) (On this square one, I used casting grain and rolled out my own plate and wire strips.) Here is the back... you can see why I thought this one didn't work, the back is sort of bent out of shape.

Hi All, I just finished my first pendant. Mtorolite cabochon in sterling. (After I took the picture I noticed the polish on the stone, and cleaned it off.) Thanks for looking! Jeff

Hey everybody, I've got my new rig up and running. I ordered it back in mid-January, and just got it a few weeks ago. It had a pretty nasty habit of giving me an oil-mist bath every time I opened it (plus just a bit of oil mist leaking out while running), so after a couple weeks I added on the white box on top... an oil mist separator made for CNC machines. Now the mist problem is completely gone! All in all, I love my new machine. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have about it! This is the saw with the easy-clean system, before I added the oil mist separator. (Yes, I have the easy-clean on a more stable platform. This picture was taken when I was first getting it set up and making sure everything worked.) Here's the saw with the oil mist separator. Thanks for looking! Jeff

Just to throw some fuel on the fire... I always prefer the MK-303 for the larger blades!

Bummer! You could always come visit me at my warehouse in San Dimas! Warehouse? Do tell! It's my new business location... 1232 square feet of industrial space about 1.5 miles from home. Makes it so I don't have to have people at my house all the time (not that I minded, it was just an insurance liability)... plus, a lot more room for rocks and equipment! The best part is that my wife no longer has to pester me about rocks in the driveway, LOL.
