Excellent symmetry, I still struggle with that. Did you do it by eye? Nice polish too!

I think I have some slabs with copper in them out in the shop. I need to dig those out and make something! Neat cube! Good luck with the polish!

Just a thought but, don't you need to adjust the speed for one barrel vs say four? Maybe that size of a motor wouldn't notice the extra weight....
Very cool idea! Kudos for taking an interest in your son's hobby and supporting him with such a cool contraption!

The one you call lightning bolt jasper is Flint Ridge Flint from the Nethers farm in Ohio. Looks like a solid piece too!

I just joined the group and look forward to sharing my knowledge and learning from ya'all. I'm in Jacksonville NC... true there are no rocks here but, my garage is loaded with them. I've been a lapidary for 25 years and a flintknapper for 20. I'm always ready to swap some rocks so if you need something send me a note.
