Eva and I have drank beers at that bar and I can tell you it is fantastic. I heard (I think here on RTH) a while back that the bar was closed and for sale but I can't recollect exactly. luvtogrow - Bob, was that you who mentioned it? Pretty sure it's closed. Will check today. Google page says "permanently closed" and most recent fb photo looks like different pub in Alaska?

Thanks. Tiny bit showing in the dirt and dug it out. Recent heavy rains uncovered small area that yielded @150lbs of pj. I'm assuming a "recent" rain when you found it around 2002? I zoomed in on the picture and saw when the photograph was taken. Nice find. Found that several weeks ago, 2002 must be set in my camera. Didn't even know of poppy jasper in 2002,

Pretty sure it has closed. I was talking about the restaurant with the bar inlaid with slabs of poppy Jasper. What was the name of that place? That's el toro brewing co and is currently for sale.

Here you go. House of Poppy Jasper 17450 Monterey Road Morgan Hill, CA 408-782-7555 is for Gino Acevedo’s work. I think his son runs the shop now. Gino started out as a gold smith, then rockhound. Enjoy! Pretty sure it has closed.

Wow! I love your posts! Those are some of the nicest poppy finds I've seen in years. Those "big poppy"uns are freaking awesome. Many years ago I used to deal with an outfit called Geoffre's Gems. He had a awesome amount of Morgan Hill Poppy ( at very high prices for those days too) I thought he had the best I'd ever seen for sale. Your variety is so much better and has so many more color and pattern combinations..Mel Hi Mel- Check out these eyes. Wish my camera could pick out the detail i can see with the eyelupe. The concentric rings are as plentiful as the grooves on a record. More than 50 per eye but can't be seen on my pics. opposite side same rock.

Poppies are out again with the rain. This 20 pound specimen was showing an inch above ground in the middle of the stream bed. Worked on getting it out and gave up (could only see color, not poppies) and went back as leaving and glad I did. Mini red poppies with the big ones.
